Everything about Substance Joy Division Album totally explained

Substance is a 1988 Joy Division singles compilation released by Factory Records. It is considered by many to be a companion to New Order's Substance.
The album features Wim Crouwel's New Alphabet type. However, the word on the cover reads "Substamce" rather than the intended "Substance". Substance reached #7 in the UK and #15 in New Zealand upon its release. It also marked Joy Division's one U.S. chart appearance, reaching #146 and the first of their two Australian chart appearances, (the other being The Best of Joy Division), reaching #53 in August 1988.
